About the Southerners

For more than 50 years, the Marching Southerners and Ballerinas from Jacksonville State University in Alabama have consistently been ranked among the best collegiate marching bands in the country.  Comprised of students from all over the country, the Southerners perform for thousands each season sending chills up the spine and tears down the face.

With class and excellence, The Southerners extend “The Friendliest Campus in the South” wherever they go, both on the field and off.

Now the Marching Southerners have the opportunity to represent JSU as never before and showcase their talents to the world!  They have been invited by the Queen Elizabeth II to lead her Diamond Jubilee (60th year on the throne) New Year’s Day Parade and to kick off London’s 2012 Olympic Year!
